Lookback on GSF-GETO's Digital Days

Context

Com&Co has organized, for more than 10 years, the GSF-GETO (French Unicancer Sarcoma Group) Annual Meeting, an event gathering close to 500 participants on average.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 edition scheduled on the 1st, 2ndand 3rd of July in Clermont Ferrand, could not be physically held.

Instead of reporting the event, it was held virtually.

Challenge

Com&Co overcame this challenge successfully in only 8 weeks, and transformed the GSF-GETO Annual Meeting in an entirely virtual event : GSF-GETO’s Digital Days, on the 1st and 2nd of July 2020.

Solution

Our Com&Co teams’ flexibility and expertise, in particular in the digital and audiovisual fields, allowed to offer, very quickly, a 2-day format and an adapted scientific program.

Conferences and panel discussions were broadcasted live on the Oncostream Web TV. The workshops were simultaneously held by videoconference.

Results

The digital version of the 16th GSF GETO Annual Meeting allowed to :

  • Gather a larger audience than in 2019 in Dijon. Those 2 days of discussions and workshops generated more than 2600 connections, including close to 200 for the workshops.
  • Increase interactions, because members of our community could react live, and by consequence share their opinions and feelings.
  • Give a new life to this event thanks to the free online replay, while patiently waiting for the 17th edition in Clermont-Ferrand.
