IMC Live 2021

The 9th Middle East CTO Summit is mainly based on real CTO cases (performed in 8 international medical centres), live streamed on a website for participants connected online.

These procedures mainly focus on the treatment of coronary chronic total occlusions, and interactive discussions and presentations complete the program where regional and international experts share their experience with the Middle East interventional cardiologists community.

This event gathers 1031 international participants (86 countries are represented).

Challenge

This event usually takes place in Saudi Arabia, gathering Middle East, North Africa and Orient with a majority of Saudi.

In view of the worrying healthcare context in early 2021, we had to question and adapt the format of the 9th Middle East CTO Summit.

Indeed, many CTO procedures judged non urgent (which is the case of chronic occlusions) were cancelled in several cathlabs in order to ensure every patient’s safety, so case recruitment was nearly impossible.

The quality of educational content being our main priority, the Organizing Committee chaired by Dr Khalid Tammam made the decision to have a 100% digital edition postponed to April, to involve more operators and centers from other parts of the world, prone to practice angioplasties to treat chronic occlusions.

Solution

This new format was thought out and developed thanks to a perfect cohesion between the IMC LIVE Organising Committee and the members of Com&co.

The common objective is “to maintain high quality educational content and exchanges with experts from all over the world in a simple and interactive way”.

To achieve this, Com&Co developed a digital environment, where participants could attend all the conferences and cases live, exchange with the experts, and discover new products on our partners’ virtual stands.

Outcomes

The 9th Middle East CTO Summits attracted 1,031 participants (64% of them were interventional cardiologists) from 86 countries during a 12-hour broadcast.

IMC LIVE 2021 is available for replay on its dedicated website and on Incathlab, giving an even larger audience the opportunity to attend all sessions (live cases, symposia, presentations) for free.
